Uyghur Islamic Center (UIC) is an independent nonprofit Islamic organization serving the Uyghur and broader Muslim communities in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area. Established in 2021, the center provides a space for Islamic worship, religious learning, community gatherings, and cultural engagement. UIC currently operates at locations in Fairfax and Chantilly and has established a permanent home while retaining its original location to continue expanding its community services. UIC places particular emphasis on preserving Uyghur Islamic faith and cultural heritage for present and future generations. Its community activities include prayers, Jumu’ah, Ramadan and Eid programs, Iftar gatherings, Friday meals, picnics, cultural events, and financial assistance through Zakat and community funds. The center also organizes educational and community forums that bring people together for religious, cultural, and social engagement.
