The Islamic Society of Gastonia is a long-established Muslim community organization serving Gaston County, North Carolina. The community began with only a small number of Muslim families in the late 1970s, with Friday, Eid, and Taraweeh prayers initially held in a private home. In 1981, land was purchased and the Islamic Society of Gastonia was established, followed by the development of its Islamic cemetery and masjid. Today, ISGMC provides a comprehensive community environment centered on worship, Islamic education, family development, and community support. Its programs include five daily prayers, Jumu'ah, Eid services, children's Islamic education, Qur'an learning, Sunday School, and a dedicated Muslim cemetery. The organization is also developing a new community center to expand its facilities and services for the growing Muslim population.
