The Al Rashid Foundation of Canada (ARFC) exists to carry forward a legacy that began in 1938 with the opening of Canada’s first mosque. What started as a modest place of prayer has grown, over generations, into a collection of institutions that support faith, education, family life, and community well-being across Edmonton and beyond. ARFC was established to steward that growth with intention. The Foundation brings together institutions rooted in the Al Rashid legacy so they can operate with shared purpose, strong governance, and a long-term view, ensuring the community’s needs are met today
